
Preetam Sirur
Preetam Sirur, Vitech’s Chief Information Security Officer, leads all aspects of information security and privacy at Vitech. Preetam has more than 30 years of security experience in various industries. At S&P Global, he led and implemented cyber security programs globally for all divisions, including cloud transformation and data loss prevention efforts. He also played a key role in the company’s business continuity following Superstorm Sandy. Prior to S&P Global, Preetam worked at Securities Industry Automation Corporation (a division of NYSE Euronext), where he was responsible for implementing the first wireless LAN for brokers on the trading floor. He went on to manage the NYSE trading floor infrastructure engineering team, executing major projects to upgrade trading floor capabilities, and led the post-9/11 trading floor recovery effort.
Preetam is a graduate of the Indian Military Academy. He was an instructor at the Military College of Telecommunications Engineering, the School of Artillery, and commanded a field battery. He is a CISSP and holds a Master of Science in Management of Technology from Polytechnic University (now NYU Tandon School of Engineering), a certification in Business Engagement for Information Security Professionals from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, and a certification from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cybersecurity.
Preetam’s areas of special interest include Information Security and Management, Cloud, and Internet of Things (IoT) security, Risk Management, Privacy, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, and Project Management. He has also been a guest speaker and moderator for Security of Things World USA™ (a leading cybersecurity forum) and In-Building Wireless. In his free time, Preetam enjoys photography, sailing and diving. He lives with his wife and children in Brooklyn, New York.
